As both an overarching idea and a hands-on approach for improving a neighborhood, city, or region, placemaking inspires people to collectively reimagine and reinvent public spaces as the heart of every community.

Project for Public Spaces' Placemaking Speaker Series is a monthly talk that connects people to ideas, resources, expertise, and partners who see place as the key to addressing our greatest challenges. We hope you will join us for learning and conversation at our offices in New York on the last Thursday of each month from 6:00PM to 7:00PM (ET).

John Shapiro, Professor at Pratt Institute, Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment, who will come and speak about placemaking for equity. The involvement of all residents is vital for creating great places. As practitioners and citizens, how do we move forward in the creation of more equitable places? How can we ensure that the process of designing and creating these places is itself inclusive?
